The copper houses are the ‘new kids on the block’ of a typically featureless neighbourhood in inner suburban Melbourne.
The buildings’ clean minimalist lines introduce a 21st century vernacular to the generic streetscape, as well as luxuriously modern living amenity, challenging ideas and advancing the possibilities of the medium density genre.
A monochromatic palette of materials compliments the formal composition, while the use of articulated copper cladding is an interpretive reference to the brown and ochre brick –clad housing stock that dominates the precinct.
